'Higher Frequencies' Is the New Sound Healing Series From woo

Featuring music from Ashnikko and beabadoobee.

Inspired by the ancient art of sound healing, feel-good platform woo has released a new video and audio series dubbed Higher Frequencies.

Fusing together the concept of sound healing with some of the biggest names in music, the first-of-its-kind series is presented in collaboration with women-led creative science studio Kinda. Designed to positively shift the chemicals in your mind, the series deconstructs a range of beats from artists like Ashnikko, Beabadoobee and DJ Vegyn (known for his work with Frank Ocean on Blonde). Combining the beats with hypnotizing visuals, (courtesy of Butt Studio, who have previously worked with Tame Impala, Boiler Room and Dua Lipa) the result is a series of deeply transformative films.

In total, the series will house four 10-minute sessions each focusing on a different frequency of track. So far, the series includes an uplifting remix of Ashnikko’s “Daisy,” designed to boost mental energy, and a meditative remix of Beabadoobee’s “Talk” which aims to relax and open your mind alongside a soundscape of DJ Vegyn’s “Game For Life,” designed to aid sleep.

“People think Sound healing is f-cking weird, it’s alienating and woo woo. Singing bowls are just not relatable. But honestly, it’s one of the easiest ways to calm your nerves,” says woo founder Stephen Mai in a press release. We wanted to reimagine what this ritual could be through a cultural lens. How do you make something so inaccessible, interesting to a broader audience? We approached our favourite artists and worked with sound healers and neuroscience experts to turn iconic tracks into songs that can physically change your mood – making you hit natural highs.”

“Sound is one of the most powerful ways to regenerate our emotional, physical and mental health,” adds Robyn Landau, Co-Founder & Director of Kinda Studios. “When our brain and body interact with the vibrations of sound, they form a synchronised choreography to support deep states of relaxation on a cellular level. We worked with woo to embed this science into the creative production of Higher Frequencies to maximise the wellbeing benefits of the series.”

The ancient practice of sound healing can work to reduce depression and anxiety, increase overall happiness and improve sleep alongside relieving trauma and balancing out emotional levels.
