How To Do Paris in Style
From chic hotels and cozy cafes to our fave stores, here’s the Local Hype: fashion week edition.
Welcome to Local Hype, a travel diary where we compile a curated list of our “Hometown Heroes” for you to enjoy. Featuring the buzziest hotels, restaurants and local treasures that we’ve experienced for ourselves, suggested by the city’s locals.
Next on the agenda? Paris, the fashion week edition.
The chic French city is fun to visit all year round, and for many of the fashion crowd, it becomes somewhat of a second home, the four to six times a year that we frequent it. As a result, you need a pretty solid list of hotels, shops and restaurants in which to spend your time and, of course, a reliable and comfortable way to get from A to B.
For us, catching the Eurostar is honestly the only way, with its lowest fares starting from GBP 39 each way (approx USD 47) and the fastest journey time from London to Paris being just 2 hours and 16 minutes. For frequent travellers, the Eurostar Premier option offers extra seat space, a free meal on board and a plush lounge area to relax in ahead of your travels, plus extra baggage allowance and priority lanes (especially handy for enormous suitcases filled with fashion week fits).
If planning isn’t quite your thing, though, then you’re in luck… Eurostar also has its “Snap” offer, designed for those who love a last-minute trip. Offering up to 50% off fares when booked to or from London just two weeks in advance, “Snap” also works up to eight days in advance for other locations.
For our stay this season, we opted for a comforting stay at the classic Soho House Paris, perfectly located and filled with all of the home comforts we could want.

Hotels and Accommodation
Soho House Paris
Along with its gym and spa offering, Soho House Paris boasts a much-needed smoothie bar (I tried the Warehouse) and a very quick room service option, which meant that for the first time in many seasons, I successfully had not one, not two, but three full and delicious meals a day. The smashburger is a must. As Soho House has a total of 48 houses across 19 countries, it’s the perfect option for creatives and frequent fliers who crave a taste of home when they travel. To explore membership options, head to the Soho House website.
