Glitter-Soaked Beauty Looks Ruled the FW26 Runway

Messy makeup is so back.

While character dressing takes hold of the Fall/Winter 2026 runway, it’s more clear than ever that the beauty details play an especially crucial role in shaping the vision. This season in particular, the party girl look dominated the runways — with everything from “the morning after” glitter encrusted skin at Diesel to tinsel updos and Euphoria-esque eye shadow at Chanel.

Thanks to the internet’s growing clean girl fatigue, quintessential runway glam has morphed from an understated, no-makeup makeup look into a chaotic culmination of glitter and smudged eyeliner. While the collections themselves aimed to embody imperfect silhouettes and the concept of a rebellious wearer, the beauty looks further complemented this by highlighting messy hair and makeup that makes the archetype feel real.

At Diesel’s FW26 show, hair and makeup was intentionally messy — with references to the 5 a.m. look left over from the night before. Similarly, Vivienne Westwood leaned into its punk roots, with chunky glitter and exaggerated winged eyeliner encapsulating the season’s affinity for coordinated chaos.

Glitter was a major constant of fashion month’s most impactful beauty details. Since designers sought out to reinforce the grungy, undone vibes of their shows, glitter became the ultimate medium. Whether it was used to add a subtle touch of shine to the face or was drenched all over the body, sparkle found its home on this season’s runway.

Above all else, the FW26 beauty looks prove that imperfection looks best when it’s celebrated. At past seasons, we’ve seen barely-there makeup and neat slick backs dominate runway beauty — but in 2026, there’s a growing emphasis on lived-in beauty and valuing play over perfection. Because frankly, we’re all too busy dancing the night away to worry about touching up our makeup.
