Taylor Swift Causes a Surge in Female Football Fans
We’re watching for the game too (maybe).
Only Taylor Swift could cause an increase in female football fans as the acclaimed singer-songwriter’s latest relationship with Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce has led many Swifties to tune into Sunday night football.
According to a report, last Sunday’s game, which featured the Chiefs and the New York Jets, garnered approximately 27 million viewers with a dramatic increase in viewership among girls aged 12 to 17, accounting for nearly 53 percent of views, with women over 35 claiming 34 percent and women aged 18 to 24 allotting for 24 percent. Naturally, there was a spike in viewership during halftime as many watchers were hoping to catch a glimpse of Taylor with 29.4 million tuning in. While we were all watching for Taylor’s reactions, she wasn’t the only star in attendance as she cheered on her new beau, alongside Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
Considering the Kansas City Chiefs won 23 — 20, it should come as no surprise that Taylor is a good luck charm.
