Richardson and Pornhub Explore Sex and Agency in A11 Issue

Featuring untold stories from Julia Fox’s early dominatrix days to works by Hajime Soroyama.

Richardson Magazine unveils A11: The Agency Issue, presented by PornHub.

Marking the 25th year anniversary of Richardson, The Agency Issue explores “the concept of agency, from its most subtle to controversial forms,” the press release revealed. Truly honoring its roots, which live at the intersection of sex, art and culture, pornstar Rae Lil Black, stars on the cover in Shibari, also known as Japanese rope bondage. Through her cover story, readers will learn of her iconic journey from law school to Pornhub’s fav “after her first video received 12 millions views nearly overnight.”

Included in the issue is Julia Fox, as she ”recounts her origin story working as a dominatrix at a dungeon in NYC,” and an inside look at Tokyo‘s underground BDSM scene through the lens of photographer Rosie Marks. Podcaster Anna Khachiyan writes on the pitfalls of the #MeToo movement while activist Samirah Raheem from the iconic #SlutWalk can enjoy her essay on the controversial Zeus network. Lastly, Queen Sateen, dishes all on her career switch from underground queer icon to pornstar and Pornhub’s newest ambassador.

A11 also features a selection of work by Hajime Sorayama, known for celebrating the female form through his iconic and erotic female robots. On the topic of agency, Richardson’s curator, Andrew Richardson says: “Sex-forward content can present a challenge to publishing in our increasingly conservative climate.” This is seen through constant censorship across social media and the erasure of sex-positive safe spaces. “It is a pleasure to work with Pornhub again for the A11 issue with Rae Lil Black,” said Andrew Richardson. “They have been supporting Richardson Magazine since A9, our issue with Kim Kardashian.”
