Is Nike's New Air Max Scorpion the Ultimate Barbenheimer Sneaker?

Nike‘s newest Air Max Scorpion silhouette seemingly taps into the current cultural zeitgeist, and not in the way we’d expect. Sure, on its exterior, it’s a knitted pink sneaker — definitely one for the Barbs among us — but at its core, the Scorpion silhouette is decidedly deadly.
As a result, the merging of the two personalities appears to make it the ultimate Barbenheimer accessory, the perfect choice for those who still deeply believe that they’ll be seeing both Barbie and Oppenheimer on the same release day. Launching last year, the Scorpion continues to find itself a go-to amongst the premium lifestyle crowd, with its new pink colorway likely to be its most popular one yet.
Crafted with a Flyknit-chenille upper, the design is complemented by bold black Swooshes, complete with stars across the lateral Swoosh’s tail and a striking sock liner which features a matching Nike script.
No official release date has been confirmed as yet, but with the Barbenheimer release date edging closer and closer, we expect to see it land via Nike pretty soon.
