Match a Lime Bike This Summer With Lydia Bolton's Cycle-Friendly Streetwear Line
Proceeds from the collection will benefit Friends of the Earth.
British slow fashion designer Lydia Bolton and London’s disruptive transportation brand, Lime, have united to unveil a cycle-friendly streetwear line.
Bolton and Lime were spurred by a recent Lime study revealing nine out of ten adults avoid cycling due to attire concerns and over half of cyclists desire chic, cycle-ready clothing. This drove Bolton and Lime to create the “Re-Cycle” collection, fusing style and utility.
Crafted from repurposed materials from TRAID’s London stores, the collection breathes new life into discarded items. Old tents, quilted jackets, jerseys, waterproof coats and puffer jackets are adorned with patchwork prints.
A highlight is the adaptable coats, shifting from short to long styles. The lower half detaches, converting into an attachable bag, freeing cyclists to pedal unrestricted. The collection also features unisex on-the-go shirts and ingenious clothing clips preventing snags on bicycles and scooters.
Inspired by Lime bike journeys through Victoria Park, the “Re-Cycle” range celebrates earthy tones like “Forest Green,” beige and sand, mirroring the city’s ambiance.
Pieces from the collection are currently up for auction on eBay, with proceeds benefiting Friends of the Earth, an environmental grassroots organization. The auction concludes on August 25.
