Is Valentine's Day the Perfect First Date? Expert Says "F-ck Yes!"
Let’s unpack the tea with dating coach, Rikki Dymond.
Valentine’s Day this year may not be going according to plan, but the Flirtini dating app’s in-house dating coach, Rikki Dymond, suggests otherwise.
If you think V-Day is solely for the lovebirds, you’re apparently wrong — sorry to the dozens of Redditors debating this since 2013. Instead of it being for those who’ve already found “the one,” it can also be for the romantics and those who just want a little lowkey love.
Dating coach Dymond “wholeheartedly endorses the Valentine’s Day first date,” she revealed. And we just had to know more. “If you’ve connected with someone in person or are talking to someone on the apps, Valentine’s Day could be the perfect day for a first date,” Dymond opened. “You’re both single and likely don’t have plans, so why not spend the evening together?!”
And she has a point. But much like those on the countless Reddit threads, we can’t help but think: “What if the date goes to sh-t?” For some, it can taint the already tricky holiday. However, Dymond shared the optimistic side of the Catch-22. “If you end up in a relationship, looking back it will be a sweet first date story. There’s really nothing to lose!”
What do you think? Are you considering the Valentine’s Day first date? Or are you riding solo this year?
