Dyson’s Hair Dryer Just Got Upgraded – And Now Its Supersonic

With a new slate of features that are sure to blow your mind – and save your scalp.

If you’re a part of the Dyson hair tool fan club, tap in! The brand just announced it’s releasing a brand new version of its beloved Supersonic hair dryer. The Dyson Supersonic Nural™  claims to be the company’s “most intelligent hair dryer,” according to the release statement.

The tool has a few new features built into the technology that aim to protect user’s scalps from damage, including potential burns. When the dryer is in “scalp protect mode,” it’ll project an invisible infrared light that determines the space between the machine and the user’s hair. If the temperature is too high the dryer will automatically drop down to 131°F, which Dyson considers the “optimum temperature for scalp comfort and drying speed.” Thus reducing heat and airflow before the tool gets too close to a user’s head or scalp to cause any damage.

The new product will also come with more diverse and improved attachments to be used on all hair types. These attachments also boast their own exciting technology that can remember your styling preferences. The tool will learn and auto-populate your preferred temperature and airflow settings for each individual styling attachment, all with the aim of expediting the drying and styling processes with less high heat.

Dyson says the Supersonic Nural™ is loaded with “capsule illumination [that] changes color to show heat settings.” This means when the tool is in “Scalp Protect Mode,” it toggles between four colors: blue, yellow, orange and red. These colors indicate that the dryer’s temperature is on low, medium or high heat, respectively. Lastly, the brand included a “pause detect” feature that reduces the dryer’s noise level, heater and airflow when a user is in between styling passes. Smart, or what?
