Movement Inspires the New ASICS and WOOD WOOD GT-2160

Accompanied by a campaign which stars an impressive cast of ballet dancers and trampoline jumpers.

ASICS and Wood Wood are rekindling their collaborative flame for the first time in seven years to release the all-new GT-2160 sneaker. First teased at Wood Wood’s Fall/Winter 2024 show at Copenhagen Fashion Week, the new kicks arrive in a greige colorway, complete with small hits of color and subtle silver accents.

“I see this as a continuation of the collaboration from 2017. Back then we did 2 colorways of the DS-Trainer, which were loosely inspired by the aesthetics of late ’90s media players and vintage Dieter Rams designed electronics respectively,” explains Wood Wood’s founder, Brian SS Jensen in a press release.

Celebrating the new release is a dynamic campaign lensed by Danish photographer Philip Messman. Featuring an impressive cast of ballet dancers and trampoline jumpers, the campaign celebrates body and movement through poetic poses and a juxtaposing feeling of calmness and intensity.

“The original GT-2160 came out [in] around 2010, to me this model still feels very fresh. I am a big fan of ASICS running shoes – especially from around this time, and was immediately drawn to the GT-2160 when I first saw the sample. I find it interesting that although many of the designs from this era are actually kind of hard to distinguish from each other, they all have this very distinct aesthetic that is unique to ASICS,” Jensen continues.

Take a closer look at the new campaign above and head to Wood Wood to purchase the new silhouette before its wider global release on March 22.
