How To Recreate Alex Consani’s Couture Red Lip
As seen on the Chanel SS25 Haute Couture runway.
To accompany its SS25 Couture show, Chanel embraced a timeless red lip and minimalist eye makeup. Models like Alex Consani, Mona Tougaard and Amelia Gray all wore the the bold, matte red lip, created backstage in Paris by Chanel makeup artists using one of three different lipsticks, depending on the models’ skin tones.
We got the breakdown for Consani’s look, all using Chanel, obviously. Starting with your complexion, apply the “Les Beiges Touche de Teint” Skin Tint with the 2-in-1 Foundation Brush for a flawless base, then use the “Le Correcteur de Chanel” Concealer and the Retractable Dual-Ended Concealer Brush for any areas that might need an extra touch-up. Then, add a flush of color with the “Joues Contraste Intense” Blush in “Rose Ardent,” blending outward with the Blush Brush N°110. Next, highlight with “Jeux de Lumières” Palette on the high points of your cheeks using the Retractable Highlighter Brush N°111 for a beautiful glow.
For your brows, brush through them with the Dual-Ended Brow Brush N°207 and fill in with “Stylo Sourcils Haute Precision” to give them a little more structure. On your eyes, curl your lashes with the Chanel Eyelash Curler, then apply the lightest shade from the “Jeux de Lumières” Eyeshadow Palette to the center of your eyelids.
Finally, for the lips, prep them with the brand’s “Hydra Serum” lip balm, then create an ultra sharp lip line using “Les Pinceaux de Chanel” dual-ended lip brush. Then, paint on the “31 Le Rouge Matte” Lipstick in shade “Rouge Recontre” all over your lips. Also used backstage was a blend of “Rouge Allure Velvet” in shades “449 Sophistiquée” and “458 Sensuelle”.
