Robert Pattinson's New Dior "Homme" Campaign Is 10/10
The fragrance is dream, too.
Dior has once again tapped Robert Pattinson as the face of its signature “Homme” Eau de Parfum. And an updated version of the fragrance – crafted by the legendary nose, Francis Kurkdjian, no less – calls for an equally exciting new campaign. And what a treat it is. The steamy film is set to a sultry remix of the Leonard Cohen hit “I’m Your Man” by electronic music duo The Blaze and follows Pattinson through a day in his life in New York City. Spot him riding a motorcycle on the beach (as you do), lounging in his lofty apartment, and in a bit of a romantic rendezvous with his lover, too. Such a mood.
While Pattinson might be the face, the man (and mind) behind the fragrance is Kurkdjian, who famously collaborated with Jean Paul Gaultier on “Angel” and founded his eponymous brand, Maison Francis Kurkdjian in 2009. He joined Dior’s perfume creation department in 2021 and is bringing his visionary touch to the classic cologne line.
“For this new perfume, I worked on the idea of the entire iris, from flower to root,” explains Kurkdjian via a press release. “I envisaged it as a powerful olfactory ‘backbone,’ which has an ethereal stem of fragile petals but is also rooted in a potent rhizome that showed me its sensual and expressive notes, with a hint of caffeine that is almost chocolatey.” In addition to the floral note, he incorporates amber accord and vetiver to infuse a subtle, gourmand layer. The scent also features a warm base of hay, patchouli and coumarin, creating a rich, earthy finish.
The duality of power and softness mirrors the image of the modern man, per the brand. In Kurkdjian’s own words: “This Dior ‘Homme’ combines a soft powdery caress with the firm hand of an amber base for a completely addictive fragrance.”
Dior’s “Homme” Eau de Parfum retails for $180 USD and is now available on the brand’s website and Sephora.
