New Balance Kits Out the 1906 Loafer in Plush Suede

In “Rich Oak” and black.

After multiple announcements of new 1906L colorways, New Balance has just taken things up a notch by introducing a brand-new suede iteration. At present, the new suede loafers will be available in “Rich Oak” and “Black Suede,” seemingly tapping into the more traditional loafer aesthetic.

A big departure from previous colorways, the new Suede 1906L is void of any sports-inspired mesh detailing and appears to take inspiration from the loafer far more than the 1906. The upper is comprised of soft suede, taking over the shoe’s overlays and tongue, complete with the classic contrasting heel counter. Rounding out the silhouette is the signature black rubber sole, adding a touch of sport style to an otherwise pretty formal shoe.

In line with previous releases, the suede versions also feature the “N-ergy” tag on the shoe’s lateral midsoles along with New Balance markings on the back and toe box, plus the 1906L lettering on the lateral uppers.

At present, New Balance has only announced the black and brown suede colorways, but given the rollout of its silvery styles, we imagine there are plenty more hues hidden up their sleeves.

Take an official look at the new recruits above, with release dates still to be confirmed.
