Chet Lo Dives Into Furniture Design With Rankin Edition
“We wanted to create pieces that don’t just sit in a room but transform it.”
Chet Lo was always destined to explore more than just fashion. In 2023, the London-based designer told us as much during an interview surrounding his Fall/Winter 2023 show at London Fashion Week. “I really want to be able to expand the brand outside of just fashion and into the world of design,” he told Hypebae. “I think I have a lot more to offer than those [areas] and I really want to touch every part of someone’s life and be able to invite them into my universe.”
Fast-forward just two years and Lo is already making that dream a reality. Teaming up with innovative furniture brand Rankin Editions, the designer fuses his signature spikes with sculptural furniture pieces, transforming classic interiors into immersive art forms. The collection includes a chair, a couch and a set of pillows, encased in Lo’s classic textures.
The chair boasts a compact yet commanding structure crafted from sleek black fabric and arrives in a cubed shape. Elsewhere, the couch arrives in a plush cream hue, designed in a sweeping, wave-inspired silhouette. Finally, the spiked cushions complete the offering, arriving in red, navy and white.
“We wanted to create pieces that don’t just sit in a room but transform it,” adds Lo. “The spikes evoke strength and individuality, while Rankin Edition’s silhouettes bring functionality and modernism. Together, the pieces challenge the way we perceive furniture.”
