Ramisha Sattar Transforms Coachella Into the Ultimate Girls Room

The festival’s iconic Ferris wheel has new competition this year.

Glam shots, Chappell Roan and your best ‘fit on big lo-fi screens, that was the vibe at Pinterest‘s Coachella activation, crafted by none other than Ramisha Sattar. If you’re new to the festival, just know that the girls spend months scrolling through Pinterest sourcing the perfect look, so they deserve this spotlight. From Moto Boho to the Urban Wrangler, the app has become the destination for styling any fashion moment. But, instead of solely offering inspiration this year, Pinterest tapped Sattar’s unique visuals to craft a dreamy, stylish paradise. The goal? To celebrate your best Coachella ‘fits.

This year, the festival lineup featured heavy hitters like Lady Gaga and Megan thee Stallion — and a multi-room dream house. According to Sattar, last year’s festival was major as she was “running around the festival grounds” crafting “visuals for Chappell’s first Coachella headlining set.” Now, the best friend duo is back in the desert to support Sattar, scream along to headliners and pull looks.

Like most fashion lovers heading to the desert, the LA-based creative told us she’s packing the car up with her best pieces and completing the look at the activation. The installation takes on the form of a vintage girls room equipped with accessories, a makeup artist and photo booths with her dreamy collages as your backdrop, making for the perfect shot.

Enter the dreamy installation below and read our exclusive interview with Ramisha Sattar and Pinterest below.

Walk us through this dreamy world you’ve created here. What’s your favorite part?

My favorite part is the exterior. We went back and forth a lot on what we wanted the main visual to be. At one point, it was like a wig with all these barrettes on it – it was huge. At one point, you were walking into an eye, then a mouth. But we ended up settling on this and it feels perfect for the desert. It complements Indio so well.

I also really love the trend hallway. It’s almost like a cute little gallery that you walk through and you learn a bit about each of the trends. And then when you get to the actual end of the gallery (I’m calling it a gallery, but it’s actually stations), we have an area where you can get styled, which is super fun.

I’m also so excited to see what the makeup artists do. I actually just met one of the makeup artists and she was so sweet – it’s going to be such good vibes. Everyone on the team has been so nice and is super creative. So I’m excited to have built this little space at Coachella where people can come get filled up, get inspired, take cute photos with friends and go about their festival day.

There are so many elements that brought your idea to life. From glam to trend explainers and photo stations for friends, which is your favorite element?

I love the photo booth, because it’s gonna add in the collages of each trend around you. So, it’s like you’re on a white like, seamless background. But it’s, it’s fun because it’ll kind of insert you in and I’m such a fan of the new collage feature on Pinterest, and we actually built those collages within the Pinterest app. So, it’s really fun. It feels like you’re actually entering a Pinterest pin. I’m really excited about.

I’m obsessed with Pinterest, so this is such a dream. We did a craft party last week to kick it off in LA and it was so fun. I was like, ‘Can we just do this everyday?’

Unserious question: If you were a cartoon character, which Coachella trend would be your avatar?

Urban Wrangler. It’s so fun. It’s so cool. But I really do love them all. I love the mixed plaids and safety pins of Stereo Punk, too. But I don’t know, something about some leather boots and a bolo tie just feels cozy.

When working on this project, were you inspired by any Pinterest girls?

I think that I went through Pinterest so much. That’s the fun thing about Pinterest. You’re scrolling past some creators that you might recognize, but also just some random person in Ohio who had a really cool idea. Sometimes I’ll scroll past my own art and think ‘Oh, that’s cute. I need to pin that.’ And then I’m like – wait that that’s me! That’s mine! It’s truly so fun. That’s what I love about Pinterest. It helps me find creatives, artists and random archives that I would not have found without the Pinterest search.

It’s this fun, magical place online where anything exists, you can search for it and you’ll find it.

The installation is gorgeous, and like you said, it’s a gallery of sorts. If you could describe this gallery in one word, what would it be?

Dreamland.
