We love it when fashion takes directly from sports, and Onitsuka Tiger just dropped the perfect collision of both worlds. The fashion girlies’ favorite sneaker, the MEXICO 66, is now transformed into a boxing boot.
The boxing shoe is a trend that we’ve been seeing on the vintage-loving Depop girls as of late, styled with mini skirts and fur jackets, and it now gets a modern upgrade courtesy of Onitsuka Tiger. Updated from archival silhouettes seen inside the ring, it’s making its way onto the streets. With boxing shorts already commandeered by the fashion girls this summer (possibly thanks to Adam Sandler), the industry’s obsession with the sport is continuing with footwear.
The classic design features the brand’s prominent logo and stitching, with a retro silhouette available in silver, pink and black or white and navy, topped off with a fold-over tongue. The lightweight midsole and zipper offer easy comfort and no need for untieing those endless laces. Evoking the history of sports, the slim silhouette and minimalist design are the ultimate retro addition to your wardrobe.
