Calliana Liang Is the Next Chun-LI

Releasing 2026.

It’s official, the Street Fighter franchise returns in 2026 with a new movie.

According to a new report by Deadline, the new adaptation is confirmed with a special cast member. On June 23, news broke that Chun-Li will be brought to life by none other than
Callina Liang. Her most notable roles are Chloe in the 2024 film Presence, as well as Lynn Kang in Bad Genius.

As fans wait for the 2026 live-action movie, they’re sharing their excitement via X (formerly Twitter). Chun-Li is the martial arts girlie, powered by Interpol. The role is by far the most hyped as Chun-Li is known for kicking a– and taking names. ”Getting the right characters for the role,” one user tweeted. Another added, “She’ll eat this.”

Since its inception, the franchise has accrued over 55 million USD in revenue and maintained fans from every generation. For those new to the Street Fighter world, the video game series first debuted in 1987. It’s ”a series of fighting games revolving around intense one-on-one battles between a diverse cast of martial artists. The games often center around a global fighting tournament organized by M. Bison, the leader of the evil organization Shadaloo.”

Stay tuned for the movie’s release date.

In other news, Billie releases a bush-worthy collab with Ian Charms. Elsewhere, Slipmami and Maldito Paris drop a fashion film.
