TELFAR's "New Models" Is Giving Reality TV Realness

“You vote who walks the runway.”

In celebration of its 20-year anniversary, TELFAR teases “New Models.”

Premiering June 18, Season 1 of “New Models” exudes that reality TV energy we know and love. Except TELFAR is swapping catfights for the ultimate casting call. “What is a model? Who gets to be seen — and who gets to decide?” the press release asks. “Because if you want to change what it means to be a model, you have to change the means of modeling.”

The new game-show-slash-experiment will premiere on an exclusive TELFAR TV microsite with everything you need to be the ultimate reality TV casting director: live chats, timed voting and more.

According to the press release, “The hour-long special follows a cast of contestants through challenges, performance, radical self-expression, culminating in a live vote during the broadcast.” Only then will viewers decide who will walk in TELFAR’s next runway show.

“New Models isn’t just casting and moving beyond fashion. It’s the next chapter in the evolution of TELFAR TV – the brand’s self-owned public access, media platform, launched in 2021 as a live, unscripted response to censorship, visibility and community broadcasting.”

Stay tuned for this “season,” airing June 18 at 8PM ET.
