Syd Just Released Her First Song in Three Years

This is not a drill.

It’s been a busy year for Syd. From being announced as an opener for Renee Rapp’s upcoming tour to a new single, her return has left every fan from her The Internet days hype.

On July 8, the LA-bred singer released her first single in three years, titled “Die For This.” Immediately, fans flocked to Twitter to share their excitement.

Others have flocked to the singles’ YouTube comment section to express gratitude. “The way I almost broke my finger clicking on this!! Your fans missed you and music needed you. WELCOME BACK my fav!!”

The new single features every element fans love about their favorite. Alternative and sultry rifts, vulnerable lyrics and an overall lo-fi feel. The song opens with Syd’s emotive lyrics, “I just hate to think of where we might’ve been (been)… If I pulled the rug instead of diving in… Never hit the brakes, let’s keep the ride goin’… Really love my life, but I would die for this.” She later sings, “If you sellin’ love, then girl I’m buyin’.”
