Jeff Koons Joins Evian's "Live Young" Collective for a Bicentennial Celebration
The legendary neo-pop artist brings his Balloon Dog to the French Alps to toast to 200 years of the brand.
evian is celebrating its 200th anniversary by enlisting artist Jeff Koons for a collaborative bottle series that bridges the worlds of contemporary art and premium hydration. Koons joins an elite circle of cultural muses like Virgil Abloh, Pharrell Williams and French brands Coperni and Moncler, who all previously designed a bottle within the brand’s initiative. Stepping into the “Live Young” inner circle, the artist is lending his unmistakable aesthetic to the evian’s heritage, combining the purity of the French Alps and the high-gloss world of contemporary art.
The collaboration centers on two limited-edition glass bottles featuring Koons’ “Balloon Dog” motif. Rendered in pink for still water and blue for sparkling, the designs utilize the artist’s signature playful aesthetic to reflect the brand’s “Live Young” ethos. According to Koons, the “Balloon Dog” was chosen to mirror the brand’s status while embodying a sense of curiosity and joy that transcends age. For Koons, the inflated silhouette is more than just a pop culture staple; it’s a symbol of the creativity that evian has championed for decades.
To kick off the bicentenary, the brand gathered its star-studded ambassador family, including tennis pros Emma Raducanu, Carlos Alcaraz, Frances Tiafoe and golfer Céline Boutier, for a commemorative portrait. The group is posed alongside a vintage delivery van against the snowy peaks of the Alps, serving as a reminder of the natural filtration process that happens right beneath their feet.
While the bottles are sure to find a home on the world’s most fashion-forward tables, the anniversary also shines a light on the brand’s environmental stewardship. For over 30 years, evian has protected the 125 km² ecosystem surrounding its source, ensuring that the glacial rocks continue to provide that signature mineral balance for another 200 years.
