Nike and Renegade's Running Collab Is an Ode to Mexican Culture
Marking Nike’s first footwear collab with an RSG partner.
Nike and California-based Run Specialty Group Renegade just launched their first collaboration, bringing Mexican culture and landscapes to the Swoosh’s Vaporfly 4 and Vomero Premium running shoes. It marks the first time the major sportswear brand has partnered with an RSG — cornerstones of the running community that provide products, services and experiences.
The Nike x Renegade collection is rooted in the RSG founder Victor Diaz’ Mexican heritage. The deep, reddish-brown base serves as the perfect backdrop for clay orange details, inspired by dry, Mexican desert landscapes. The earthy color palette is the same on both the Vaporfly 4 and Vomero Premium, with the orange highlighting the smaller, signature features on each sneaker.
The large “AIR” slogan on the Vomero Premium comes from Nike’s ’90s basketball sneakers, reimagined to fit Renegade’s brand identity. On the Vaporfly 4, “Renegade” is printed across the instep in bright orange. The phrase “Barrios Unidos” is included throughout the collection, with the intention of inspiring more connection and community amongst runners.
The Nike x Renegade collection will be available to purchase starting April 1 on the Nike website, Renegade website and select retailers.
