Nike Spotlights the Women Powering London’s After Dark Tour
Highlighting seven unique stories and the newest Nike Sportswear designs.
Nike is flipping the script on running culture with its latest storytelling campaign, “It Starts Off the Track,” celebrating seven women taking part in the London leg of the After Dark Tour. Shifting the spotlight from finish line stats to personal empowerment, the project explores how movement serves as a vessel for sisterhood, mental clarity and self-reclamation.
The campaign highlights a diverse collective of runners from different European cities. Among them are Natacha Drif of Paris‘ Eightlines crew, who transformed running from an unhealthy obsession with weight into a joyful, pressure-free release, Daniela Villegas of Amsterdam‘s Out of Office club, who navigated postpartum depression by carving out daily solo runs and Olimata Taal, founder and coach of London’s Wild Luna Collective, who rebuilt her relationship with movement into a thriving community space.
Whether running to honor family, reclaim bodily autonomy or simply find routine, each story proves that movement is deeply personal. Putting stories to a few of the faces running in Nike’s ongoing women-led global tour gives the public new insight into the life of an athlete and the shared experiences, obstacles and struggles women in sport often face. Each story is different, yet relatable to someone, somewhere.
Accompanying the initiative, the Swoosh highlights two early-2000s archival runners retooled for life off the tarmac: the Zoom Streak 3 and the Zoom Skylon 11. First introduced in 2009, the streamlined Zoom Streak 3 delivers throwback racing heritage, while the reissued Zoom Skylon 11 merges retro flair with modern comfort. Offered in a spectrum of vibrant, eye-catching colorways, both silhouettes effortlessly bridge performance nostalgia with contemporary streetwear aesthetics.
