Everything We Know About 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' Movie, So Far

From potential plot lines to production dates.

Last summer, we (and the rest of the internet) became absolutely obsessed with the TV show The Summer I Turned Pretty. It can only really be described as a phenomenon, with debates taking over our feeds and even celebrities weighing in… Notably, Jennifer Lawrence had a lot to say. Whether you were team Jeremiah or team Conrad, the teen love triangle made for great television.

Now, to fill that The Summer I Turned Pretty-shaped hole, we are being blessed with a feature-length film to continue the story of Belly, Conrad, Jeremiah and the rest of the crew. Production is set to begin on April 27 in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Fans have mixed feelings, with many worried about what the continued storyline could mean for the characters. The original series is based on the novels by Jenny Han, who was also part of the show’s writing. While a few details were changed for the show, the story ends around the same point as the books. But there are still a few unanswered questions. For example, how does Jeremiah feel, and will the brothers reconcile? Does Belly leave her life in Paris? We’re sure all will become clear.

Currently, the exact release date of the film is still unknown, but it is likely to be in 2027. If there’s one thing we’ve learnt from this series, it’s that Belly’s love story is never really over. Stay tuned for updates.
