Chappell Roan Is the Newest Face of MAC VIVA GLAM
The star unveils three limited-edition lip products.
MAC Cosmetics has just announced ambassador Chappell Roan as the newest face of VIVA GLAM. In honor of the partnership, the brand is also releasing a limited-edition collection co-created by the artist. Just in time for Pride Month, the capsule includes three lip products made for “the girls, the gays and the theys,” and gives back 100% of the selling price to VIVA GLAM charities.
“VIVA GLAM has always been about more than makeup. It’s about showing up for communities and making real change,” Roan tells Hypebae. “Being able to create these shades and know that every purchase gives back makes this partnership feels incredibly special to me. Makeup and queerness in a lot of ways are intertwined. So for this to be released [during] Pride Month feels kind of serendipitous and I’m so glad I get to release this now.”
Drawing inspiration from Roan’s beauty aesthetic and the visual language behind her artistry, the collection brings us three products encased in a custom tube featuring a sword-and-heart crest design. When it comes to lipstick, there’s the MACximal Silky Matte Viva Glam Lipstick in “Unnatural Red Head,” a deep cherry red shade inspired by the star’s signature hair color. As for the other additions, there’s the lipstick-balm-hybrid VIVA GLAM Lustreglass Sheer-Shine Lipstick in mid-toned plum shade “Roan of Arc” and the VIVA GLAM Lipglass Air Non-Sticky Gloss in “Damnsel,” a sheer red plum.
Chappell Roan’s VIVA GLAM Collection will be available for purchase on the brand’s website starting June 11.
