Yohji Yamamoto and Repetto Bring a Rebellious Twist to Balletcore

Unveiled on the runway during Paris Fashion Week, the long-standing creative partnership between Repetto and Yohji Yamamoto continues to evolve. Reinterpreting classical dance codes through a dark, avant-garde lens, the two iconic houses have co-created a striking new footwear silhouette for the season.
Rooted in a shared appreciation for body movement and non-conformist elegance, the duo’s third collaboration takes inspiration from Repetto’s archival Bolchoï model, which was a design originally derived from traditional ballet pointe shoes. Yamamoto transforms the classic silhouette into a hybrid ballet loafer, blending the ease of a moccasin with the delicate structure of performance footwear.
The standout feature is its architectural forefoot, crafted with a structured front wall and fine pleating that mirrors the construction and unmistakable box of authentic pointe shoes. An elasticized collar adds flexibility, offering a precise fit that contours the foot.
The collaborative ballet flat is rendered in four distinct colorways: a sleek shade of black, minimalistic white, fiery red and a bold, metallic silver to complete the collection.
Fusing French artisanal savoir-faire with Japanese avant-garde tailoring, the collection offers a fresh, rebellious take on the enduring balletcore trend that has taken over the internet and runways in recent years.
The Repetto x Yohji Yamamoto collection arrives exclusively in select boutiques starting this month.
