A Closer Look at Nike’s “The 1 Reimagined” Pack: SAGE

Minimalists, these Air Force 1 and Air Jordan 1 are calling your name.

The idea that less is more is what brought the Sage duo from Nike‘s “The 1 Reimagined” to life. Having covered the archetypes of Jester, Lover, Rebel and Explorer, the all-female design collective at Swoosh decided to go back to basics with the last two pairs from the collection. As creative director of Nike’s women footwear Georgina James told us, the “SAGE XX” is really about ”taking all the fuss off the shoes,” and highlighting the Air Force 1 and Air Jordan 1 silhouettes in their purist form.
Take an on-feet look at the women’s exclusive sneakers below. Priced between $120 USD and $160 USD, these two pairs will be available at Nike stores in North America on February 7, and on the SNKRS app on February 9. The global release for the entire “The 1 Reimagined” lineup is scheduled for February 16.

Clean and unpretentious, the Air Force 1 “SAGE XX” has got rid of the usual lacing system, and has transformed itself into a pair of easy slip-ons. Streetwear girls, feast your eyes on the elevated, chunky midsole that completes this minimalist pair. You can also find a mini Swoosh embroidered on the side panel of the soft suede upper.

Likewise, the Air Jordan 1 “SAGE XX” is stripped down to its very core design elements. Again, the laces have been removed to create a high-top, slip-on style. Constructed with a mix of soft suede and supple leather, the sans-Swoosh upper features only a subtle Air Jordan wings logo near the collar. It’s the low-key chic footwear that you need in your sneaker rotation.
