"I Would Have Given Him 3,000 Years" — Olympian Simone Biles Responds to Larry Nassar's Sentencing
The gold medalist opens up in an interview with the ‘Today’ show.
Earlier this month, USA gymnast and gold medalist Simone Biles revealed via an open letter that she too had been assaulted by team physician Dr. Larry Nassar. Following his 175-year sentencing, Biles appeared on the Today show to discuss the case.
Biles shared that she was “very happy” with the judge’s decision but if it were left up to her she “would have just give him a crazy number like 3,000 years.” She holds back tears discussing what she’s been through as she joins women of the #MeToo movement who are fighting against abuse both professional and personal.
As she prepares for the 2020 Tokyo games, Biles will also be attending online school with her mother who has always been her closest confidant. Watch the full interview at Today.
