Take a Closer Look at Feng Chen Wang x Converse's Footwear Collab

Presented during Shanghai Fashion Week.

Chinese designer Feng Chen Wang debuted a forthcoming Converse collaboration during her Spring/Summer 2019 runway show. As a part of Shanghai Fashion Week, the footwear range was highlighted alongside futuristic apparel. Earlier this year she presented a FW18 lookbook titled “The Way Home.”

For her latest collab, Wang created a trainer in five different colorways. The Chuck Taylor model includes maximalist design cues seen in double layering. The low-top iteration features a reworked sandal with two halves of the model tacked on to a base, which is paired with a strap added to the lacing system. The high-top version comes with sole foxing and canvas panels in unique shapes, where you can see the base underneath.

The Feng Chen Wang x Converse footwear collab will launch with an exhibition at Shanghai Fashion Week titled, “This Is My Journey Through Life.” The showcase is a part of Converse’s newly created “All The Stories Are True” campaign.

Check out the model in the gallery above. Stay tuned as details emerge on a drop date.
