Filling Pieces Officially Launches a Unisex Ready-To-Wear Collection

The label also plans on launching bags and small leather goods in the future.

Known for its refined minimalist sneakers, Filling Pieces has now revealed that it will venture into apparel. Launched in tandem with Barneys New York, the Amsterdam-based label has officially debuted a 12-piece unisex capsule collection. The brand plans on following up to its premiere range with a permanent seasonal program that will arrive for Pre-Fall 2018, to be stocked at five key retail partners that include Barneys (US), SSENSE (Canada) and Gr8 (Japan).

Filling Pieces founder Guillaume Philibert tells Business of Fashion that he plans on making apparel a critical part of the label’s growth in the future. Specifically, he aims for the RTW arm of the company to make up 40-percent of the business by 2025 – 50-percent of the revenue will remain from footwear, and the remaining 10-percent from accessories such as bags and small leather goods. On the business’ development, Philibert says:

“It’s a niche brand that’s not always accessible, especially our more contemporary pieces, so expanding the Filling Pieces universe [and] moving into ready-to-wear will hopefully give us more visibility.”

The Filling Pieces debut ready-to-wear collection is available now at Barneys New York and fillingpieces.com.
