Balenciaga SS27 Brings Its Couture Techniques to Ready-To-Wear
The showcase included an installation called “Les Coraux de la Liberté” by French artist Aude Franjou.
Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2027 reimagines everyday clothing through the lens of couture, taking foundational techniques from the house’s 55th Couture Collection and applying them directly to daily wear. The showcase to unveil the collection was attended by Lauryn Hill, Law Roach, Lola Tung, and also featured an installation from French artist Aude Franjou, called “Les Coraux de la Liberté.”

The wardrobe of the season focused on everyday basis, denim jeans, button-down shirts, T-shirts, bombers and structured suits, but completely alters their relationship with the wearer in couture form. Atelier draping guides the architecture of each piece while sewing methods transferred from internal tailoring structures create distinct basque volumes on casual leather jackets and cotton tops.
Rich pops of color made for an eye-catching runway. Bright orange was seen in a variety of sheer dresses; one designed as a single-shoulder silhouette with flowing fringe and another with a cape and billowing neck-piece. Neon pink, mustard yellow and plum were also seem throughout the collection in the form of funnel jackets, blazers and, of course, in the accessories.
Footwear includes the flat Wave Thong Sandal in toile canvas, the heeled Dahlia Mule and an unstructured Lounge Sneaker. Hand-draped leather bags like the Silhou Tote and the organic-shaped Nodo offer soft, malleable forms. Eyewear features artisan-braided arms on the Bow Mask Sunglasses, accompanied by Getaria seashell-inspired jewelry pieces.
