Kendall Jenner Stars in adidas Originals' ARKYN Sneaker Campaign
A shoe built for the next generation of rule breakers.
After revealing that it would be dropping a brand new silhouette called the ARKYN late last year, adidas Originals is finally releasing the sneaker in April. Described by the brand as “a trainer for creating, working, thinking, inspiring and collaborating in,” the shoe is made with creatives in mind. “It’s time to push back on the cliches, they’re wearing thin. A new, technical silhouette, rooted in adidas’ iconic vintage style, that looks both to yesterday and tomorrow. Like the best creatives, the shoe is inspired by the archive and the future,” states the label.
Fronted by Kendall Jenner, the ARKYN campaign was shot by Renell Medrano in Jenner’s Soho apartment. The sneaker features a clean and techincal mesh upper, decorated with the brand’s classic Three Stripe detailing as well as a mesh tongue. Designed with a sock-like constriction, the silhouette sports a neoprene heel and a minimalist lacing system that can be worn however the individual chooses. “No rules. No Instructions. No Hype,” is the idea behind the sneaker, and echoes the idea of creativity to the fullest.
The campaign also stars four other ARKYN icons alongside Jenner, Ana Kras, Marisa Competello, Syv De Blare and Florencia Galarza, and highlights individuality and authenticity as style. All from different walks of life, the images were all shot in the talent’s real living and working spaces, to emphasize the true, personal connection, allowing the photographer to capture all the women in the most natural manner possible.
