Vans Releases "Girls Skate India" Film Featuring India's First Female Pro Skateboarder

And a new initiative for girl skaters worldwide.

Vans‘ latest empowerment-themed project is a short campaign video about pushing boundaries. “Girls Skate India” follows professional skateboarder Lizzie Armanto and India’s first female pro skateboarder Atita Verghese as they set out to challenge India’s societal norms. Following the creation of her organization Girls Skate India, Verghese united with Armanto to teach local girls about skateboarding.

“Girls Skate India” showcases the community within skate culture and alongside the film’s release, Vans has also announced the launch of over 100 global skate clinics in major destinations like Brooklyn, Chicago, Shanghai and Mexico City.

The skateboarding clinics begin on March 8 – International Women’s Day. Watch the film above and head to vans.com for more location details.
