Model-Turned-Activist Julia Cordova Wears Converse in This Editorial Featuring Farm Animals

A moooooving commentary on sustainability and animal rights.

In its latest editorial, footwear giant Converse teamed up with model-turned-activist Julia Cordova to showcase the brand’s chic new designs presented in an unusual, yet tasteful way. Taken at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary, Cordova poses with animals including cows, turkeys and goats, making these images jaw-dropping and eye-catching. In most Converse campaigns, we are used to seeing a variety of vibrant colors that make the items attractive, but in this particular editorial, the label has taken a different approach in delivering one-of-a-kind pieces.

The inspiration of the shoot centres around the model’s newfound love for being a vegan and features the brand’s classic silhouette based on the original 1970 Chuck Taylor All Star design with a modern revamp for that contemporary fit. In the photoshoot, Cordova wears two different designs of the timeless sneakers both covered in a black hue with a chunky white midsole. The first pair has a completely monochrome upper with silver eyelets and black laces to complete the look. The second piece is covered in black with detailing across the upper with a thin red pinstripe running through midsole adding to the over-the-top appeal of the shoe.
