Gosha Rubchinskiy Announces End To Seasonal Collections
A notable business move.
Earlier today, Gosha Rubchinskiy announced via Instagram that he will end presenting seasonal collections “as you’ve known it” for his namesake label. In a recent interview with HYPEBEAST, Rubchinskiy shared that he was “a bit tired of doing season to season collections.” The business move follows the designer’s decision to present his show in his native country Russia in the cities Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad. This comes swiftly following the news of Gosha Rubchinskiy’s operator, COMME des GARÇONS, announcing a forthcoming launch of an online-only brand.
Similarly, other major fashion designers like Alexander Wang and Demna Gvasalia of Vetements have been stepping away from the cut-and-dried global presentation schedule. In the Instagram statement, Rubchinskiy also shared, “something new is coming.”
In the aforementioned interview, the designer also expressed his views on growing his label PACCBET:
“I want to change the strategy and do more project-based things. Maybe that means a womenswear line sometime. We want to do more collections and collaborations with PACCBET.”
There are currently no further updates on the business move, stay tuned here as more details emerge.
