New York-based Danielle Guizio has quickly established a name for herself with her streetwear-inspired collections and pieces, worn by celebrities like Hailey Baldwin on the regular. Now, the designer has dropped a T-shirt that is promoting mental health wellness, as May is officially recognized as Mental Health Awareness month. Guizio was inspired to create the piece as a way to bring awareness to the prevalence of mental health issues. Merging fashion with a notable cause, a percentage of the proceeds from the capsule will be directly donated to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Take a look at the piece in the gallery above, and buy one of your own online to support the cause. In addition to the launch, the label also filmed a video in New York, tapping people of all ages and backgrounds to speak about mental health. Take a look at the video below.
Maintaining one’s mental health is important throughout every shape of life, from childhood to adolescence & throughout adulthood. Addressing mental health concerns has become stigmatized in our society that often times individuals do not feel like they can discuss it or reach out for help. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we’ve created a design in hopes of bringing awareness to the subject and making the topic of mental health more conversational. Portion of Proceeds will be donated to National Alliance on Mental Health Illness. Thank you to everyone involved in this project. Link in bio.
