Givenchy's Resort 2019 Collection Is an Ode to Eighties Sportswear

Cool and contemporary.

Clare Waight Keller was just unveiled as the mystery designer of Meghan Markle’s wedding dress, hot on the heels of her debut Resort collection for Givenchy. Markle’s beautiful and timeless gown, however, was worlds apart from the retro-contemporary mens and women’s collection for Resort 2019, proving the British designer really can do it all.

For 2019, Keller drew her inspiration from the Givenchy Sport line from the ’80s, mixing bold graphic prints, standout silhouettes and technical fabrics with sharp, contemporary tailoring. In terms of color, we saw bright fuchsia and cobalt blue mixed with monochrome patterns and fabric ranged between plissé silks and leathers paired with practical, sports-inspired materials.

Accessories are strong too, with ultra-slouchy boots, bucket-style crossbody bags and even an on-trend luxurious belt bag available. Peep the images from the Resort 2019 collection above and don’t forget to check out Givenchy’s zodiac-inspired earrings and rings.
