Hattie Crowther's New Collection Is an Ode to Working Women
Introducing “Public Service.”
London-based designer Hattie Crowther returns with “PUBLIC SERVICE,” a heart-led collection inspired by her late mother, Mandy. The new line explores female care, lived experiences and women’s labor, celebrating the mothers, sisters, and aunties shaping football culture behind the scenes.
Created in collaboration with New Zealand-based designer James Bush, the collection reframes traditional sportswear through her signature subversive lens. Classic matchday codes receive a high fashion overhaul, pairing managerial jackets with corsetry-inspired tracksuits, and dresses crafted from football spacer mesh and grey marl jersey.
Injecting a bit of British humor into the collection, crisp packets are reimagined as slogan tees featuring “CHEESE & COUNCIL TAX,” “PRAWN & PRIVILEGE” and “SALT & STUDENT FINANCE,” cleverly critiquing class, money and food culture.
In addition to clever T-shirts, Crowther’s signature style is brought to life through impeccable tailoring. An oversized, pinstriped shirt is one of the standouts of the collection, printed with a slightly smudged impression of a football jersey. Paying homage to her Northern roots, the “Yorkshire 65” replaces the usual player name and number.
Constantly redefining football style while championing women and sustainability, Crowther’s “PUBLIC SERVICE” honors the unsung women keeping the game alive.
The full collection is available to pre-order now on the Hattie Crowther website.
