Cardi B & Offset Announce They're Officially Married at a Secret Wedding
The couple tied the knot last year.
Fans of Cardi B and Offset would probably remember the touching moment when the Migos rapper proposed to his girlfriend in front of the audience at Power 99’s Powerhouse concert. While the engagement happened last October, TMZ reported recently that hip-hop’s new royal couple has been secretly married since September 20, 2017. According to TMZ, a marriage certificate in Fulton County, Georgia bearing the real names of the artists, Belcalis Merlenis Almanzar and Kiari Kendrell Cephus, has been obtained by the site.
On Monday (June 25), Cardi B has taken to her Twitter account to confirm the rumors. She writes in the note,
“There are so many moments that I share with the world, and then there are moments that I want to keep to myself! Getting married was one of those moments! Was one morning in September we woke up and decided to get married. We found someone to marry us, and she did. Just the two of us and my cousin. I said ‘I do,’ with no dress, no makeup, and no ring!”
The “Bodak Yellow” star further explains that Offset got down on his knees anyway because he wanted her to have “that special moment that every girl dreams of.” She adds, “This why I name my album Invasion of Privacy cause people will do the most to be nosey about your life. Welp f*ck it .” Read her message in full below.
