Japan's Hello Kitty Bullet Train Will Begin Service This Week – Here's an Official Look
It’s cuteness overload.
Back in March, JR West announced that it has joined forces with Sanrio to create an entirely Hello Kitty-themed bullet train in an effort to help revitalize the West Japan region. Having shared some adorable concept renderings a while ago, the Japanese railway company now finally unveils official images of the super kawaii train.
Set to launch on Saturday (June 30), the Hello Kitty Shinkansen will be operating between the Shin-Osaka Station and Hakata Station in Fukuoka, making stops at Okayama, Hiroshima and more. From the pink bow-covered exterior to all the Instagram-worthy details inside the cars, the train is just as cute as all Hello Kitty fans have hoped for. As Vogue reports, everything passengers will find on the train, including the design of the seats, rugs and windows, are all inspired by the feline cartoon character. Scroll through the gallery above for a peek inside.
For those who’d like to go for a ride on the kitty-filled train, you might want to book a summer trip to Japan soon, as it’ll only be running for a three-month period until this September. JR West even reveals that tickets for the first-day reserved seats are almost sold out. To purchase your tickets, head over now to the Hello Kitty Shinkansen website. You may watch the video below to learn more about the route of the train.
