The Best Looks From the 2018 BET Awards Red Carpet
Janelle Monáe donned an LGBTQ-inspired gown.
This year has been a highlight year for black artists, creators and stars alike. While many other awards shows bring out all the high fashion and couture gowns and accessories, the BET Awards is notoriously known for a bit of a relaxed dress code. Every summer, the show honors black excellence and artistry. This year, the red carpet style saw an array of colorful cut-out designs and trendy colors like Gen Z Yellow and gold. Janelle Monáe led the pack with a chic rainbow-inspired gown by Nicolas Jebran paired with a red and black top hat.
Serayah donned an equally stunning, golden set by Australian designer Alice McCall. Another favorite look of ours was Regina Hall in a bright, on-trend yellow gown by Diane Von Furstenberg. Hall posed alongside Amandla Stenberg, her look styled by celebrity stylist Jason Bolden consisted of a metallic gold Miu Miu mini-dress. Also on our radar was emerging artist Ella Mai – her first-ever carpet look which was styled by Dianne Garcia featured a custom all-black dress and jacket.
