Take a Closer Look at the Matthew Williams x Nike Collaboration in This Surveillance Cam Editorial

Will you be copping pieces from the upcoming drop?

First revealed back in May, the forthcoming Nike collaboration with Matthew Williams of 1017 ALYX 9SM is a covetable release – to say the least – amongst both streetwear and sportswear lovers alike. Filled with an abundance of stylish utility elements, the new training collection is like nothing we’ve ever seen before. Described by MMW himself, “You need functionality in multiple areas in a training collection because we know it won’t only be used in the gym. For example, you need pockets, and you need elements that are detachable and adaptable.”

Offering their own interpretation of the collection, photographer Jayson Palacio and videographer Lucas Chemotti have created a unique editorial that utilizes the voyeuristic quality of surveillance cameras to inform their stylistic vision. Playing off Williams’ conceptual interpretation of humans and computer design coming together, the editorial’s aesthetic is a perfect complement to the designer’s technology-inspired influence. Having already seen the campaign, we now get a closer look at the structural pieces from the collection, including T-shirts, anoraks, pants and more. Of course, Williams’ hallmark rollercoaster buckle is used as a functional detail in various pieces.

Take a look at the editorial images in the gallery above, as well as the editorial video below. The MMW x Nike collection is slated to drop on July 12 at select locations such as Blends. To see more from 1017 ALYX 9SM, don’t miss our roundup of the best designer mini backpacks on sale now.
