Yayoi Kusama is the star of the upcoming Infinity film that chronicles her life as an artist with a radical vision. The movie follows Kusama from her origins in post-World War II Japan to becoming the top-selling female artist in the world.
The film’s trailer dives into the early traumatic events in Yayoi’s life that shaped her perspective. Beginning with a dysfunctional family and a society that shunned her work, Kusama was forced to fight for herself. The trailer details her experience with depression and her transition to the United States with the help of American painter Georgia O’Keeffe. “My art was made to change people’s minds. I hope it can make the world more peaceful,” she shares in an interview clip.
