Dior and A24 Are the New Creative Power Couple

With Jonathan Anderson bringing the house into the world of film and theatre.

Fashion and film are tighter than ever, proven by the announcement of Dior and A24’s two-year collaboration spanning film, theatre and live events, with Dior becoming the main partner of New York’s historic Cherry Lane Theatre.

The partnership kicks off with Both Ends, a one-off performance celebrating the first anniversary of A24’s reopening of the theatre. Inspired by poet and playwright Edna St. Vincent Millay, one of Cherry Lane’s founders, the production stars Justin Vivian Bond and is directed and produced by Zack Winokur.

Adding a fashion twist, Dior creative director Jonathan Anderson designed the costumes for the performance, with Bond wearing an archival look by Paul Poiret. The choice is particularly fitting as Millay was known to wear Poiret, whose work also inspired Anderson’s Dior FW26 collection.

Beyond the opening event, Dior and A24 will collaborate on a wider programme bringing together artists across film, theatre, fashion and the wider creative world, with a focus on both established names and emerging talent. The partnership will also support students, creating opportunities to engage with the creative and practical sides of film and theatre.

“There’s something thrilling about putting two creatively driven worlds side by side, you start to see what they pull out of each other that neither could’ve found alone. That’s where the interesting stuff happens,” shared Anderson.

For Dior and Anderson, it’s another step towards blurring the boundaries between fashion and the wider creative disciplines, this time with A24 as its co-conspirator.

In other news, Coach threw itself a birthday party for its SS27 collection.
