Cardi B is set to release a new album this year, the news was shared officially via an interview on her Instagram Live. Last year was marked by a series of high points for the New York-bred rapper: the release of her debut album Invasion of Privacy and the birth of her daughter with the rapper Offset, Kulture.
In the video, Cardi went on to share more details about the forthcoming project:
“Of course it’s gonna be an album in 2019. Hopefully, I could get my album done around the same time that ‘Invasion of Privacy’ came out, but I don’t know how possible that’s gonna be because I feel like I’m going to be extremely, extremely busy.”
If the above is true her new release will be released in April of this year. Notably Invasion of Privacy was record-breaking and went multiplatinum. According to Variety, recently there were talks about the compilation dropping as a deluxe edition which would feature new tracks. It’s possible that the unreleased tracks will release as a part of her new project.
Variety also reports that Cardi is one of a few artists who will potentially appear alongside Maroon 5 “during the group’s still unconfirmed Superbowl performance.” A source close to her denied this claim.
