UPDATE: Raf Simons Announces Release Date of The xx Collaboration
The capsule will include T-shirts, caps, pins and limited-edition patches.
UPDATE (December 2, 2019): Following a series of photos posted to Instagram vaguely alluding to a collaboration between Raf Simons and The xx, the upcoming project and its release date have been officially announced. The collaboration, which celebrates the 10th anniversary of The xx’s debut album, xx, consists of clothing and accessories including T-shirts, caps, pins and limited-edition patches.
All pieces will be released on December 12 at select Raf Simon stores and at Dover Street Market‘s Ginza and Midwest locations in Japan. Watch this space as further images of the collection emerge.
ORIGINAL STORY (November 25, 2019): Raf Simons has announced an upcoming collaboration with English indie band The xx. The designer took to Instagram with a series of photos, shot by Willy Vanderperre, of the trio wearing turtlenecks and jackets adorned with white X-shaped pins branded with his “RS” initials. Simons also posted an Instagram story introducing the collaboration, which may debut in System Magazine, judging by the publication’s shoutout in both Simons’ photo captions and story.
The undefined collaboration follows The xx’s music video for “I Dare You,” for which Simons created the concept, in partnership with Calvin Klein. Stay tuned as more details emerge.
