Dr. Martens' Classic 1460 Boot Gets a Rainbow Stripe Makeover for Pride Month
A donation from sales will be made to akt, an LGBTQ+ youth homelessness charity.
With the start of Pride month just a few weeks away, brands have begun the annual roll-out of their rainbow-hued homages to the LGBTQ+ community and Dr. Martens is no exception. The heritage footwear brand has given its classic 1460 boot an update, with the signature leather upper boasting multicolored stripes throughout.
Complementing the cause and design of the silhouette are the eyelets which also correspond to the colors of the Pride flag. To contrast the grooved midsole retains its usual black tone, as do the laces although the boots come with an optional rainbow lace set too. The branding on the heel loop is reimagined in a multicolored ombré finish and the visible stitching on the midsole, which is usually yellow, also gets a rainbow makeover. Completing the look is the vertical white “PRIDE” text that’s printed on the heel.
