Filling Pieces Dip-Dyes Its FW19 "The New World" Collection
In collaboration with research and development center @mattttttttter.
With the recent release of Filling Pieces‘ Pre-Fall 2019 “The New World” collection, the Amsterdam-based fashion label has just unveiled its Fall/Winter 2019 collection in which the brand has experimented with the process of dip-dyeing its materials. The label has taken a completely new approach to the dip-dye technique, incorporating it on its apparel pieces and sneakers.
The Lay Up Icey basketball-inspired silhouette acts as a canvas for this experiment which has been dyed as a whole – a process similar to garment dyeing. The premium suede, nubuck, and canvas uppers of each sneaker take on their own unique patina due to the different structures of the materials. As a result, each pair comes out with a unique design arriving in a peach, dark green, and navy blue colorway.
After using the sneaker as a trial, Filling Pieces teams up with educational research center @mattttttttter who has helped further explore custom dyeing and mixing traditional techniques with the brand’s own contemporary aesthetic. The @mattttttttter x Filling Pieces items include graphic hoodies, sweat pants and long sleeves that all come in a grey and purple base color.
The Lay Up Icey Dip Dye sneakers drop on August 16 at fillingpieces.com and at select retailers, while the hand-dyed collaboration will be exclusively available online.
In case you missed it, Daily Paper releases its FW19 collection filled with tie-dye and snakeskin prints.
