Complete with a color-changing effect.

Known for it’s tongue-in-cheek approach to design under Demna Gvaslia‘s rule, Balenciaga has wowed us with its fair share of offbeat accessories over the past seasons. For its SS20 collection shown just the other day, Hello Kitty bags were the accessory of choice but if you’re looking for some standout sunglasses despite summer being over, look no further. Inspired by ’90s light-up sneakers, the luxury brand has unveiled a pair of unisex sunglasses that boast Balenciaga’s text logo illuminated on the side.

The striking, blocky rectangular silhouette is reminiscent of Balenciaga’s curent retro-futuristic aesthetic and is complemented by wide arms and black lenses. The LED logo itself can change between multiple colors and patterns through a tap sensor, which is activated automatically once the arms are extended. To ensure you’re ready to flex your stylish sunnies at any time, the internal battery is easily charged with a standard USB cable.

Take a closer look at the space-age sunglasses above and stay tuned for release info. In the meantime, here are five things you need to know about Balenciaga’s SS20 show at Paris Fashion Week.
