UPDATE: Tom Holland Denies Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Involvement in ‘Spider-Man 3’
“I honestly have no idea what this film is about and I’m eight weeks into shooting it.”
UPDATE (February 10, 2021): “No, no, they will not be appearing in this film,” Tom Holland said in an interview with Esquire, putting an end to the supposedly “confirmed” cast of the anticipated Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel.
“Unless they have hidden the most massive piece of information from me, which I think is too big of a secret for them to keep from me. But as of yet, no. It’ll be a continuation of the Spider-Man movies that we’ve been making,” he continued, denying that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s involvement in the film.
Despite Tom Holland’s denial, he also admitted that he isn’t sure about the direction of the upcoming Spider-Man 3 movie. He’s also revealed that Marvel Studios often feeds him false information, only supplying information on a “need-to-know” basis. “I honestly have no idea what this film is about and I’m eight weeks into shooting it…They do it all the time.”

ORIGINAL STORY (December 9, 2020): Following news that Alfred Molina would return to Spider-Man 3 and reprise his role as Dr. Octopus, familiar names from the franchise are also confirmed to feature in the upcoming film. Although Tom Holland is currently playing the main character Peter Parker, former Spidey actor Andrew Garfield has also been confirmed for the sequel, and rumors are saying that Tobey Maguire is also in negotiations as we speak.
The Spider-Man 3 film will also see Kirsten Dunst as MJ, Zendaya, as well as Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. Jamie Foxx is also coming back as the villain Electro, and we’re still waiting to see whether Emma Stone will also make a comeback as Gwen Stacy.
The Marvel Studios film is slated for a December 2021 release. Stay tuned as any more information surrounding the Spider-Man 3 release surfaces.
