'The Batman' Production Halted After Robert Pattinson Tests Positive for COVID-19
The crew had just recently resumed filming.
Just days after filming resumed for the DC superhero movie The Batman, leading actor Robert Pattinson has tested positive for the coronavirus. As Vanity Fair reports, production of the film at Warner Bros. Studios — located just outside of London — has been suspended immediately.
In a statement, Warner Bros. shares that “a member of The Batman production has tested positive for COVID-19,” without revealing said person’s identity. The motion pictures company adds that the individual “is isolating in accordance with established protocols” and that “filming is temporarily paused.” It is through a trusted source that Vanity Fair confirmed the cast member in question is Pattinson.
Production of the Matt Reeves-directed film was halted back in March when the pandemic hit the UK. According to a recently revealed teaser trailer, The Batman is scheduled to release on October 1, 2021.
